GOVERNMENT urges citizens to adhere to CORONA PROTECTION INSTRUCTIONS

Deputy Minister of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children Mwanaidi Ali Khamis has urged the public to follow the instructions given by health experts in the country to protect themselves from the pneumonia caused by the Corona virus.

Deputy Minister Mwanaidi Ali Khamis issued the order during his visit to Kigoma Region at the Regional Referral Hospital as well as the Kibirizi Old Age Home.

He added that the Sixth Phase Government under the leadership of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Samia Suluhu Hassan will ensure that it protects its citizens against Corona virus infection by ensuring that immunization education is provided expeditiously.

"I say we should take all precautions and wash our hands with running water, wear masks and avoid congestion so that we can get rid of the infection of this disease that the third wave has emerged" said Deputy Minister Mwanaidi

In addition, Deputy Minister Mwanaidi has inspected a special window for the provision of services to the elderly where he expressed his interest in the services provided and stressed that the Government will continue to rattle the issue of improving services for this important group for the nation.

He has instructed officials in the health sector to work with Social Welfare officers at all levels to ensure that health services and other social services are improved so that the elderly can live a better and more dignified life.

Reading the report of Maweni Hospital, the Chief Medical Officer of Kigoma Ujiji Municipality, Dr. Osimundi Dyegura said services at the hospital have been improved, including the establishment of special windows for special groups, including services for the elderly.

Despite these successes, Dr Dyegura said among the challenges facing the hospital were the deterioration of some buildings and the shortage of specialist doctors for some diseases.
