Bank sends business team to International Trade Fairs in Istanbul

SOME 15 business community persons, who are also members of NMB Bank Business Club yesterday left Dar es Salaam for  a nine-day visit the International Trade Fairs 2022 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Presenting them with tickets at the NMB Headquarters in the city, NMB Bank Chief Credit Officer, Daniel Mbotto accompanied by his Chief Shared Services Officer, Nenyuata Menjooli said this is the second time the bank was coordinating such a trip.

Giving history, he said the first time was in 2019, when they sponsored 10 businesspeople to participate at the 125th Canton Fair 2019  in Guangzhou, China, and thereafter COVID-19 interrupted two more trips for 2020 and 2021.

Speaking before handing over the tickets, which were all paid for by NMB, Mr Mboto said the aim of transporting the businessmen is to give them the opportunity to learn about various issues important for the well-being of their businesses and in turn raise the economy of the country.

Mr Mbotto pointed out that the businessmen will start the tour on Wednesday and visit the exhibitions to give them business insight, adding: “Among the places they will visit are factories that produce products with a large market in the country, which they have a relationship with, where they will see for themselves the production of various products including medical equipment, construction equipment, clothes, cosmetics and so on.

"NMB believes that the visit will be of great benefit to these businessmen and the nation as a whole, since their commercial growth is an increase in employment and benefits for all Tanzanians.”

Elaborating, he mentioned the criteria that were used to get the businessmen as including their good history of borrowing and loan repayment, passing their business by 95 percent in NMB bank, helping them connect businessmen to join the bank and the ability to contribute a small percentage of the trip.

Mbotto asked the businessmen to ensure that the visit brings about a change in their businesses, they make good use of every opportunity they will see and return home with great knowledge, along with expanding the business network to promote their business and the national economy.

"Let me remind businessmen more, there are many opportunities within NMB bank and do not hesitate to choose us to do your business with productivity and benefits, where apart from good services, we have great opportunities like these for business visits which are the catalyst for their ec On their part, a representative of the 15 businessmen in the journey, Paulo Lema, thanked NMB for the various opportunities it provides to their clients of various cadres in increasing their power to grow economically and emphasized that the more they are supported, the easier their business growth will be.

"The more NMB you support our businesses by giving us loans, financial education and opportunities like these, the more you speed up our development and commercial prosperity, we assure Tanzanians that we will return better from the fruits of this visit.

"The intention is to develop our ability to provide employment to our fellow Tanzanians through opportunities like this, which we also call on NMB to continue to care for us and reach more customers, entrepreneurs and businessmen to increase their understanding of commercial and economic issues," stressed Lema.

Speaking on behalf of the businessmen who had such an opportunity in 2019, Award Mpandila, who is the Chairman of the NMB Business Club Dar es Salaam Region, admitted that their visit to the Canton Fair has helped them change systematically, operationally and doing business.

"It is a visit that gave us various benefits, which have been the catalysts for our commercial growth nationally and internationally and we have now reached the milestones of signing various agreements with our colleagues from developed countries and thus supporting Industrial Tanzania which is being processed by the Government.
