Dar es Salaam Thursday 6 October 2022. The Minister for Communications and Information Technology Nape Nnauye today took part in Customer Week celebrations hosted by Airtel Tanzania which included exhibitions of services and products provided by the company.

The exhibitions started at the beginning of the week to mark World Customers Week and are aimed giving customers a platform to experience the best services and products and at the same time their challenges are solved.

Speaking after visiting the exhibitions, Minister Nnauye appealed to Tanzanians to continue using services and products provided by Airtel as the government owns 49 per cent stake. ‘The government owns Airtel by 49% shares. These are your money and therefore whenever you use any service of product provided by Airtel means that you are benefiting yourselves’, said Nnauye.

‘Im very happy to see how Airtel is providing excellent service to customers. In these days of digital transformation, the government has been engaging service providers to come with a good plan and strategy on how to increase the usage of smartphones in the country. Airtel has already up with a strategy whereby Airtel is giving a smartphone by credit, a customer’s makes deposit of Tzs 70,000 and the balance is paid by installment until is completed’.

I want to assure that the government will continue working closely with you with an aim of investment climate in the country in order to give you a room for growing our economy.
